Portofino Bar

Portofino Bar

The first thing I noticed when we got to the restaurant and opened up the menu is the focus on the alcohol and wine! You get to pick from a wide selections of red and white wines plus all the other favorites as you might think of. You can buy by the glass or by the bottle and even get a bottle or two!

The best thing about a vacation is finding a place that you really enjoy eating the great food and the party vibe. Here you can sit inside or outside depending on the weather. I like the summer and that's why we chose a summer vacation for the Swimming Season plus the sun down doesn't happen till around 8:30 pm which makes great evening dining while it still daylight. There's something special about Patio Dining at a bar which has a beautiful view of an italian courtyard.

The Portofino Bay Hotel is part of the Universal Studios complex and is open to the public to check out the restaurants. If you park at the Citywalk parking complex and take the walkway down to the main area, just go to the right and follow the sidewalk down to this restaurant. They even offer a Boat Taxi which will take you from the main Theme Park area down here to the dock area all day long and return. When you think about italian food you know it's gonna look great when it's presented to you and that might be the first part of the experience.

I love those six hundred degree brick oven style pizzas that really come out super lovely and loaded with good stuff on top. Fresh hand tossed dough is the key to any Pizza as far as I'm concerned. When you walk into a restaurant and they have an open kitchen area where you can see what's going on, to me that's a lot better by far. The meatballs ricotta has to be the best dish you can ever imagine and you won't be able to eat it all. Thank goodness leftovers are always even better the next day.

You don't even have to eat, as this is a nice place to just stop in for a couple of cocktails on your way over to do one of the rocket rides inside the Islands of Adventure Theme Park, which is a three to five minute walk away. I do like the nearby Moe's Southwest Grill Menu Ingredients for quick service and here is more relaxing, plus cocktails. This is a big step up from the local fast food pizza at dominos.com of Orlando, which is not bad either. I like to dine in style when I'm on vacation and we picked the winner!
